Arthur Joseph Ballard

Arthur Joseph Ballard aged 79 of Saranac, passed away November 6, 2008. He was born February 7, 1929 in Mt Clemens, MI, the son of Arthur and Effie Ballard.

He married Susan Gunter March 5, 1976 in Ionia.

Arthur worked for Dept of Correction before retiring in 1990. After retirement he drove vehicles for Wittenbach. He was a member of Ionia Moose Lodge 998, and Hubbardston Sons of The American Legion Knights of Columbus.

Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Susan Ballard of Saranac; sons Jamie Ballard of Edmore, Todd and Tracey Gunter of Saranac, and Troy Ballard and Susan Pelo of Luna Pier; daughter Linda and Randy Mallory of Vestaburg; grandchildren Megan Ballard, Corey Alspaugh, Ryan Mallory, Kody Gunter, Shane Gunter and Matt Mills and 5 great grandchildren. One sister Evelyn Kerzmein of Morley. Father in law Richard Gunter of Saranac.

He was preceded in death by his parents , one sister Joan Miller and his mother in law.

Memorial services will be held Monday 2:00 P.M. at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac. The family will receive friends and family Sunday 2:00-4:00 P.M at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers you may make contributions to Saranac Athletic Boosters.
