Charles Walter Topp, age 92, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2008 at the Laurels of Kent Nursing home in Lowell, Michigan..

Mr. Topp was born on January 24, 1916 in Gary, Indiana to James and Adeline Parks Topp.

Charlie graduated from Saranac High School in 1933 where he excelled in basketball and Field and Track. He married Shirley Irene Fashbaugh on May 22, 1935. They were married 63 years until Shirley’s passing in 1998.

Mr. Topp farmed the Saranac area for many years, was instrumental in starting the Saranac Manufacturing plant in Saranac, Michigan and later retired from LesCoa in Grand Rapids as a Maintenance supervisor.

Mr. Topp leaves behind three children. Margaret (daughter) and Marlin Meyers, Jan (daughter) and Marshall Major, and Mike (son) and Cathy Topp. He had 6 grandchildren and 6 great grand children. Charlie also leaves behind three very special friends, Carol Gage, Rose Kerr and Paul Friedli.
