Daniel A. Pixley
Daniel A. Pixley, age 62 of Ionia passed away September 26, 2008. He was born September 30, 1945 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of James and Barbara (Dillie) Pixley. He lived in West Olive, MI, before moving to Grand Haven, MI where he met and married Barbara Walters August 6, 1966 in Holland, MI. Daniel graduated from Grand Haven High School in 1963. He worked for and retired from the Michigan Department of Corrections, in Ionia. He was a veteran and a life member of the V.F.W. He served in the U.S. Navy until 1966. He loved pheasant hunting, deer hunting with his best friend Dave and family, and camping.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Barbara of Ionia; Daughter, Diane and Gary Pettit of Elizabeth, Indiana; sons, Robert Pixley of Ionia and Raymond and Jamie Pixley of Stanton, MI; sister, Joyce and Gary Wiebenga of Grand Haven, MI; 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 1:00 P.M. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with Pastor Den Slattery officiating. Interment Vermontville Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions to Shriners Crippled Children.
