Deborah Slaughter
Deborah Slaughter aged 45 of Ionia, passed away August 6, 2008. She was born May 27, 1963 in Deckerville, MI, the daughter of Phillip and Bernice (Nichol) DeLong..
She married Bruce Slaughter December 22, 1990 in Belleville, MI. He preceded her in death in 2001.
Deborah was a member of Shiloh Community Church . She taught at Ionia High schools Heartland Program and child development. Deborah was also a MEA member.
She is survived by her father Phillip and Cathy DeLong of Canton, and mother Bernice and Bill Zerbst of Livonia; and her loving children at home Arianne and Mariah Slaughter of Ionia; brother James DeLong of Wayne; sister in law Dawn DeLong of Howell; grandparents Jim and Mary Nichol of Deckerville and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her brother Steve DeLong in 1999 ,Grandparents Lyle & Freda DeLong, and sister in law Tina in 2005.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday at Shiloh Community Church with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment at Balcom Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives 1:00-9:00 P.M. Sunday at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. .In lieu of flowers you may make contributions to Deborah’s Daughters Trust Fund.
