Barbara J. Herbert
Barbara J. Herbert, age 75, of Ionia passed away June 21, 2008 in Ionia. She was born May 22, 1933 in Greenville, MI the daughter of Lester and Minnie(Warren) Hankis. Barbara married Keith Herbert November 22, 1961 in Ionia. He preceded her in death in 1993.
She was a member of Shiloh Community Church where she was very active. She was also a member of Red Hat Society and she enjoyed going down to socialize at Ionia Commission on Aging.
Barbara is survived by her children, Deborah and Kevin Clay of Grand Rapids, Michael R. Herbert of Ionia, Vicki and Ed Hatt of Ionia and Becky and Gary Parkin of Fenwick; brother, Lester Hankis of Texas; sister, Deloris Priest of Ionia, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 1 niece and 5 nephews.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, 2:00 p.m. at Shiloh Community Church with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. Anyone wishing may make donations in Barbara’s name to Ionia Commission on Aging or Shiloh Community Church.
