Helen L. Mitchell
Helen L. Mitchell age 79 of Saranac passed away June 20, 2008 in Ionia. She was born April 11, 1929 in Ionia the daughter of Clyde and Marion (Minier) Baker . Helen married Donald Mitchell November 11, 1970 at Saranac Community Church.
She was a member of Saranac Community Church, past member of Eastern Star and a 4H leader for many years.
Helen is survived by her loving husband of 37 years Donald Mitchell of Saranac; children, Susan and Philip Gillespie of Hastings, Steven and Barb White of Bay City and Jodi White of Ionia; step children, Keith Mitchell of Florida, Dennis and Kay Mitchell of Ionia, Kathy and Larry Cole of Saranac, Debra and Russell Carlson of Shingleton and Brenda and Dale Dennie of Lake Odessa; sister, Diane Callaway of Washington State, 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 grandson Trevor.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at Saranac Community Church with Bruce Chadwick officiating. Interment Saranac Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Monday 2-4 and 7-8:30 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac. In lieu of flowers you may make donations in Helen’s name to Ionia Area Hospice or charity of choice.
