John Richard Rogusky
John Richard (Bob) Rogusky aged 81 of Ionia passed away September 15, 2008. He was born September 28, 1926 in Lima, Ohio, the son of John and Grace (Konst) Rogusky.
John was a 1944 graduate of St. Johns Catholic School in Lima, Ohio. John married Marge Peiffer June 30, 1948 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Carson City.
John started work in the Greenville area at Gibsons. He would go on to work at the State Hospital in Ionia. He continued to work in the Dept. of Corrections as a Hobby Craft Instructor, retiring after 34 1/2 years.
John was a WWII veteran in the Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Greenville. He was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church and the Ionia Knights of Columbus
John is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Marge Rogusky of Ionia; children Peg and Steve Starks of Ionia, Rick and Cindy Rogusky of Ionia and Kathy and John Zimmer of Gilroy, CA; sister Martha McClintock of Fenwick; step brothers Jack Fahey, Jim Fahey and Bob Fahey; step sisters Mary and Sheila; brother and sister in laws Mary Anne and Vic Ratu of Muir, Gene and Sharon Peiffer of Orleans, and Vicki Peiffer of Crystal; grandchildren Nick Starks, Julie and Spencer Stewart, Danielle and Jason Sibley, Christopher and Sarah Rogusky, Erik Zimmer, Nicole and Adrian Garcia and Justin Zimmer; 7 great grandchildren with another on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother in laws John McClintock, Dick Peiffer, Jim Peiffer, step father Joseph Fahey, and step sister Patty.
Funeral Mass will be held Thursday 11:00 A.M. at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Father Melvin Fox officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. Scripture service will be held 7:30 P.M. Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Anyone wishing may make contributions to American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
