Lloyd Stauffer
Lloyd Stauffer, aged 88 passed away at his home near Belding, May 16, 2008. Lloyd was born in Lowell on May 24, 1919, where he graduated from high school as an outstanding athlete, excelling in track, football and basketball. He is survived by his wife Ernestine (Althaus), their three children, John (Flora) Stauffer of the Philippines, Larry (Nancy) Stauffer of Belding and Linda (Tom) Renucci of Ionia. Also, by ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Before becoming a dairy farmer, Lloyd worked as manager of the Kroger store in Lowell, as a guard for the Department of Corrections in Ionia and a produce manager for the Meijer store in Greenville where he earned the nick name “Leafy.” He was preceded in death by his parents, Emiel and Ada (Dennis) Stauffer, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 21, 11:00 A.M. at Easton United Methodist Church with Rev. Nancy Patera and Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday 4-7 P.M. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Easton United Methodist church, Hospice of Ionia or a charity of choice. |
