Lorraine Ward
Lorraine Ward aged 91 of Morley passed away May 8, 2008. She was born May 26, 1916 in Grand Rapids, MI, the daughter of Elmore and Bertha (White) Westgate.
She married JB Ward April 5,1942 in Grand Rapids. He preceded her in death May 5, 1996.
Lorraine attended Northland United Methodist Church and was a member of several Hitch & Go Prowler Travel trailer Groups.
She is survived by sons; Ronald and Dorothy Ward of Clarksville and James and Kathleen Ward of California; sisters Janice and Robert Stewart of New Jersey, Marcia and Roger Weeks of Clarksville, and Roxanne Purkiss and Gary Hoffman of Lake City; 13 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Virginia and Jeanette; 1 brother, Russell Westgate and 2 grandchildren, Dean and Kimberly.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Mogor’s office, staff at Fountain View of Lowell, Emerald Meadows Nursing Home in Grand Rapids and Rev. Gregory Freed for his many acts of kindness.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 12, 2008, 2:00 P.M. at Cascade Christian Church, 2829 Thornapple River, SE Grand Rapids, MI 49456. Interment Vestaburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Sunday 4-8 P.M. at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac. Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions in Lorraine’s name to Youth Haven Ranch.
