Mary Irene Hunter

Mary Irene Hunter aged 69 of Saranac passed away May 11, 2008 in Ionia. She was born October 15, 1938 in Utica, MI the daughter of Orth and Wanda (Lockwitz) Repp. She married Donald Hunter June 3, 1961 in Royal Oak, MI.

Mary was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, where she was very active.

She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years Donald of Saranac. Children Robert and Susan Hunter of Saranac, Paul and Nan Hunter of Las Vegas, NV and Colleen and Allen Ells of Charlotte. Sisters June Stephenson of Royal Oak and Julie Shafor of Charlotte. 6 Grandchildren Melissa Hunter and Fiance’ Bill Larsen of Saranac, Rebecca and Ben Bowen of Ionia, Angela Hunter of Saranac, Keith Newcombe and Fiance’ Jennifer Ricket of Saranac, Bradley Newcombe and Fiance’ Francesca Bebe of Muskegon and BobbiSue Hunter of Saranac. 3 Great Grandchildren Tyler, Alayna and Tanner.

She was preceded in death by her sister Heather Drinkard and Brother Sonny Repp.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday 11:00 A.M. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Pastor Joseph Fremer officiating. Interment Easton Cemtery. Visitation will be Wednesday 2-4 and 7-8:30 P.M. at the Lake Funeral Home in Saranac.

Mary loved her family and took pride in each and every accomplishment of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a thirst for knowledge and unquenchable curiosity. She was giving of spirit, with a generous nature. She always thought of others before herself and she loved being a mother most of all.

We shall miss her beautiful smile and zest for life.
