Ronald T. Mahis Sr.

Ronald T. Mathis Sr. aged 61 of Sheridan passed away September 18, 2008. He was born December 29, 1946 in Lebron Junction, Kentucky, the son of Theodore Ronald and Hazel (DeVore) Mathis.

Ron loved hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling and karaoke. He was always on the go and never at home. Ronald was a past member of Ionia Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his sons Ronald and Jill Mathis Jr of Muir, and Markey and Jennifer Mathis of Sheridan; grandchildren Billie Jo, Markey Jr, Cohl, Kara, Camara, Ethan, Makenzie, Malori, and James; loving companion Sheila Young of Sheridan; her children Kristine Johnston of Sheridan, Guy and Brandy Jeffrey of Stanton, Steven and Mandy Moran of Lakeview and Michael Moran of Grand Rapids; grandchildren Dustin, Kara, Keagan, Jadan, Madison, Alana, and Natalie; brother Terry Wayne Watters of Kentucky; sister Glenda and Eddie Payne of Kentucky; special close friends Charlie Shattuck of Ionia, Jim Lytle of Lyons, Jim and Donna Champagne of Ionia, Bill and Wanda Vorce of Grand Rapids and Tim Nummer of Ionia.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday 11:00 A.M. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with Pastor Phillip Chamberlain officiating. Anyone wishing to, may make contributions to Sparrow Hospice or American Heart Association.
