Shirley Metzger
Shirley Metzger age 82 of Ionia passed away April 26, 2008 in Ionia. She was born January 25, 1926 in Detroit, the daughter of Alfred and Mary (Pakes) Thomas. Shirley married James Banhagel 1945 who preceded her in death and Bruce Metzger in 1966 who also preceded her in death. She graduated from Stanton High in 1944 and worked as an Antique Dealer in Ionia for many years.
Shirley is survived by her children, Robert Banhagel of Ohio and James and Christine Banhagel of Ionia; grandchildren, David Banhagel of Ionia, Cara Banhagel of Alabama, Robert and Maureen Banhagel of Ohio and Rebecca Blankenship of Ohio; great grandchildren, Jake and Drew Blankenship of Ohio and Michael Banhagel of Ionia; sister, Barbara and James Burk of Florida, several step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jack, sister Phyllis and 1 grandson Joseph.
Cremation has taken place. Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.
