Thelma Renucci
Thelma Renucci age 87 of Ionia passed away June 14, 2008 in Ionia. She was born November 23, 1920 in Ionia the daughter of Gideon and Emma (Slowinski) Smith. Thelma married Manuel Renucci January 19, 1939 in Ionia, he preceded her in death in 2004.
Thelma owned and operated Renucci’s Bar for 50 years with her husband Manuel until retiring in 1985. She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Church and a lifetime member of Ionia Moose Lodge. She loved yard work and gardening.
Thelma is survived by her children, Bob and Joyce Renucci, Richard and Margaret Renucci, Jerry and Jill Renucci, Shirley and David Husted, Tom and Linda Renucci and Bob and Linda Dick all of Ionia; brother in law, Larry Northrup of Ionia ; sister in laws, Leona Renucci of Arkansas and Virginia and Bob West of Detroit; 17 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to her caretaker Dee Thayer.
She was preceded in death by her husband Manuel, son Joseph Michael, her parents, 1 brother, 6 sisters and grand daughter Kaci Renucci.
A mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, June 18th, 11:00 A.M. at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Father Fox celebrant. Interment Easton Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia, where there will be a scripture service at 7:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to SS Peter & Paul Church or Ionia Area Hospice.
